Review of the Most Popular Beaches in Corfu

It all begins with an idea.

Corfu is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, with crystal-clear water and stunning scenery. The west side of the island has the best beaches — usually sandier with that perfect turquoise water — while the east side tends to be rockier. I didn’t travel down to the south as most of the better spots more in the northern region of the island. Some notable beaches that I wish I could have gone to was Canal d’Amour.

Although the beaches near Old Town are convenient, the most spectacular ones often require a short hike down. If you’d rather explore several in a day, consider renting a boat — it’s one of the best ways to discover Corfu’s hidden coves and beach gems.

My Favorite Beaches

The most beautiful beaches in Corfu don’t have beach clubs with day beds and amenities that you may be looking for in a beach day. Alot of the more beautiful beaches also require a hike down and parking isn’t easily accessible.

Kontogialos Beach

  • This is the beach near my hostel and it wasn't overpacked like other beaches

  • You are able to drive your car down to the beach, you may have to pay for one of the restaurants

  • I thought Sakhar Beach Bar had the best beach club, the chairs were comfy and the food was good and the music was playa techno but not too loud

Gyali Beach

  • The prettiest beach that we went to by far, the water is stunning and the hike down is well worth it!

  • Parking is free, but you have to hike quite a bit down

  • The hike is pretty steep and you have to use ropes to get down

  • It a little confusing on how to reach the beach but it was well worth the hike.

  • There are lots of signs saying it is dangerous to hike down, so make sure you are going the correct way and follow other people

Limni & Klimatia Beach

  • These two beaches are small, you have to hike down a little but, but very beautiful and 100% worth visiting

  • It isn’t a beach club type of place but in Limni Beach there are a few chairs you can rent if you would like

Other Beaches:

Rovinia Beach

  • Probably the most popular beach on the west side of the island, but for me it was too touristy, not enough shade, and the walk down was pretty far for something that wasn’t that enjoyable. The pictures people post online are a little deceiving because it is beautiful but the actual experience of the beach makes it not worth going to in my opinion.

Porto Timoni Beach

  • Similarly to Rovina Beach, the pictures online make the place very tempting to go to, but it’s quite crowded. It’s another very popular beach on the west side of the island, but for me it was too touristy, not enough shade, and the walk down was pretty far for something that wasn’t that enjoyable.

Agios Georgios Beach

Agios Georgios Beach

  • Very long strip of beach and if you like doing laps like me, this is a good spot. The northern side of the beach is nicer and you are close to Porto Timoni Beach.

  • Parking next to beach/no hike: Yes

  • Beach Chairs & Clubs: Yes

Barbati Beach

  • Very similar to what Agios Georgios offers, but on the east side of the island

  • I would say the water was a bit bluer and nicer than Agios Georgios, but more touristy and louder beach clubs

Kanoni Beach

Kanoni Beach

  • Beautiful beach near Kassiopi town, which is a nice beach town in the north.

  • Parking next to beach/no hike: Yes

  • Beach Chairs: Yes

Paralia Kalami Beach

  • Nice beach that is quiet to chill at if you are going to the restaurant Callao Corfu. You wouldn’t go to this beach without booking the beach chairs and eating at the restaurant as it’s not as beautiful as other beaches. It is intimate and it is a place that you would only stay if you have beach chairs rented.

Beaches I would personally skip:

Liapades Beach

  • Was pretty touristy and smaller beach, although you could drive all the way to the beach, it wasn’t the most beautiful and the amenities were lacking. For a beach with amenities and day beds, there are better beaches to go to.

Faliraki Beach

  • The most popular beach in the Old Town. Although it is convenient, there are many other much nicer beaches around the island, so I would recommend to skip.

Corfu’s Best Restaurants/Cafes

It all begins with an idea.

Restaurants

Callao Corfu

Make reservations in advance and reserve beach chairs. I wouldn’t drive to this beach on its own but for the restaurant it’s great. The food was tasty and the vibe is quite nice.

Monastre

Was beautiful situated and when we made a reservation we had a minimum spend per person but the restaurant was not crowded, you don’t need to reserve in advance and for the particular table location. We were worried about spending the minimum per person but it was actually quite easy.

Olivia

Food: 5/5

Environment: 5/5

We had the best sea bass I think I’ve ever had and the vibe is gorgeous with a beautiful view

Akron

Was beautiful and located right on the beach with good food. We were able to walk from our hotel.

Nereides

Tsipouradiko

Was so cheap and felt more local and truly we ordered and ate way too much

Cafes/Bakeries

Starenio Bakery

I’m still dreaming about this bakery, everything was so so delicious and fresh

Bars

Personally Ipsos was the only area besides the south that had a bar scene, but it was not very good, very touristy and quite trashy.

Moby Dick Ipsos

Dirty Nellie’s Irish Pub

La Grotta Bar

We just came for drinks and it has a nice vibe, you could also go swimming and eat here if you wanted to

Blog Post Title Four

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
