5 days Itinerary in Kimolos

Day 1: Arrive by Ferry, Enjoy Rema Beach and Explore City Center

Arrive from Pollinia in Milos and take the 30 minute ferry from Kimolos to Milos and check into your hotel at Rema Beach. I took my ATV with my bags on the ferry and motorscooter to your hotel. There are also taxis available and motoscooters that you can rent near the port.

  • Enjoy Rema Beach and see elephant rock. Maybe opt to picnic at the beach.

  • Drive to the city center and explore and get lost in the streets. Eat dinner here and go to a bar and do some window shopping.

  • My favorite bar was Agora Cocktail Bar because it had some cute outdoor seats.

Some Essential Tips

How to arrive?

Take the boat from Milos to Kimolos. I took my ATV from Milos to Kimolos with me. It was much cheaper to rent an ATV than to rent a car.

How do I get around?

You really do need a motorscooter or a car to get around the island. The main hubs, such as Chorio, you can walk around by foot.

How long do I need?

Some people take a day trip from Milos to Kimolos, but to really explore and see everything that the island offers, even just exploring the main highlights, you would need a couple of days. I spent a week here and took it really slow, it’s not an island that you want to rush around, but you want to spend time at each beach or place you visit.

Where should I stay?

The island is really small, it almost doesn’t matter where you stay. Rather than focus on the location I would focus on a hotel vibe that you like.

Day 2: Hike to Movaotnpia and Enjoy Prassa

  • Wake up early and have breakfast at your hotel.

  • If you are staying near the port, the drive is about 30 minutes to Movaotnpia Beach and hike to Paralia Soufli. I was the only one at these beaches and know that there are no amenities here. The hike is not hard but the path doesn’t feel well walked on.

  • Have lunch at Prasonisi and then drive to Prassa Beach and spend the day there.

  • Eat dinner at Meltemi, which has stunning views and is a romantic date night type of restaurant. You will want to spend time at this restaurant both during the daylight and the night time.

This day is a little packed, so if you have more time I would break up and do Movaotnpia and Prassa on separate days because really you will want to spend time at Meltemi and see it during the day and night.

Day 3: Beach Hop & Watch the Sunset at Mavrospilia Beach

  • Wake up early and have breakfast at your hotel.

  • Drive to Aliki Beach and Kalamitsi Beach. I wouldn’t stay long to see these beaches but you can enjoy lunch at one of the beach clubs at Kalamitsi Beach. You will want to spend more time at Mavrospilia Beach.

  • Drive to Mavrospilia Beach and enjoy the sunset here.

Day 4: Take a boat trip to Polyaigos

  • You can easily walk to the boat are arrange a boat trip to Polyaigos, an island where no one inhabits.

  • The boat trips are only half a day, mine started around 11AM until 5PM.

  • Eat dinner in the city center.

Day 5: Enjoy breakfast and beach at Port

  • Relax and enjoy the beach and lunch at one of the restaurants near the port, I ate at Lostromos - Cafe Bar and it was good. If you don’t have alot of time, you could skip this or just have a coffee.

  • Take the 30 minute ferry back from Kimolos to Milos to port in Kimolos and check into your hotel, I stayed for a few nights at Hotel Psathaki which is central and near the port and a few nights near Rema Beach.

Highlights, Must see

If you don’t have 5 days, you could definitely go alot faster and see the main highlights:

  • Prassa Beach

  • Sunset at Mavrospilia Beach

  • Enjoy Rema Beach to see the beautiful Kilmas and Elephant Rock

  • Walk around the city center (Chorio)
