Portugal: Ericeira

Such a special little town full of cafes, restaurants, amazing beaches, plenty of places to surf, and a digital nomad heaven. The community is small here and so many people have moved here and work remotely.

Recommended Beaches:

All the beaches are AMAZING, if you get bored of one, just keep walking and there will be another one that you may like. One thing is there isn’t much shade.

  • Praia dos Pescadores: The main beach near the town.

  • Praia da Baleia: Still next to the city center and bigger.

  • Ribeira d’llhas: When I did surf lessons this is where we went. There’s a chill restaurant with bean bags to grab a beer or chill out after surfing. It’s called Rabbi Ribeira d’llhas.

  • Praia de Sao Lourenco: More north

  • Foz do Lizandro: From the town take a walk along the coast south to this beach. It’s not as crowded as the ones closer to town and lots of good restaurants nearby.

Best Restaurants:

  • Balagan Ericeira - great for breakfast as it’s by the beach and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is really good!

  • Hurley Surf Club - great spot to chill out and work. They have good coffee as well.

  • Caminito - Best food I’ve had in Portugal. Do yourself a favor and go to this restaurant.

  • Tiger & Chick - Small cafe and coffee spot.

  • La Popular - Wasn’t able to go, but I heard it’s great

  • Taberna Lebre - Amazing steak sandwich, can even take it to the beach and picnic.
